OnePlus Ace 3 update: Possible OnePlus 12R rebrand with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, OLED display

Just recently specifications of a new OnePlus smartphone surfaced online. It is speculated that this could be the new OnePlus Ace 3. The phone could come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 6.74 inch display and much more. OnePlus is rumoured to be working on a new smartphone which could be the OnePlus Ace 3. Specifications hinting at it have leaked online. But that’s not all. The leaked specs come closely to the specs earlier leaked for the OnePlus 12R. Now, reports suggest that these could be the same devices meant for different markets.

If that were true, then it is a no shocker as OnePlus previously pulled this with the OnePlus 11R and the OnePlus Ace 2 as well. Here are the tipped specifications of the OnePlus Ace 3:

Tipster DCS revealed that the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3 could feature a 6.74 inch OLED display along with curved edges, a punch-hole, 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, and PWM dimming support.

OnePlus 12R

The phone could run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Soc and it could offer up to 16GB/24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB/1TB of UFS 4.0 storage variants. Speaking of the battery, the OnePlus Ace 3 could pack a 5,500mAh battery supported by 100-watt fast charging.

On the camera front, we can expect to see a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide OmniVision OV8D10 lens and a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 telephoto shooter offering up to 2x optical zoom.

OnePlus 12R

Other than this, the specifications which were previously leaked for the OnePlus 12R reveal that it could house an in-display fingerprint sensor, and would operate on the OnePlus skin based on Android 14 operating system.

The exact release timeline for the two phones is not known yet, we’ll have to wait for the full picture.
